Thread Lifting Q&A
What is the difference between MINT Lift and epiticon?
Both products are polydioxanone (PDO) absorbable threads. MINT Lift is approved by Korea MFDS as a facial soft tissue fixation thread, featuring 360° 3D micro-barbs formed by the Molding process. epiticon is a line-up based on PDO sutures used in the medical field since 1983. Beauty Blossom operates both products as a dual line-up, designing according to area and purpose.
How long does the thread lifting effect last?
Duration varies depending on the type of thread used, individual skin condition, procedure design, and post-care. Both MINT Lift and epiticon are PDO absorbable medical devices, absorbed by the body over a certain period after the procedure. Although the thread is absorbed, the tissue response induced during the procedure may be maintained for a certain period. For accurate guidance, please consult through 1:1 consultation.
Which thread line-up is suitable for me?
MINT and epiticon line-ups differ in application areas, cannula gauge, and barb shape. Contour lines such as V-line and jawline use the cog thread series, while volume areas such as hollow cheeks and indian band use the volume thread series. After analyzing skin condition and face shape through 1:1 consultation, we design a customized combination for you.
How are pain and anesthesia handled for thread lifting?
Stimulation may occur when the cannula or needle is inserted, and sensitivity varies between individuals. Local anesthesia is performed during the procedure, and additional anesthesia options may be guided for areas with thick skin or extensive line-up. Please decide after sufficient consultation with the medical staff before the procedure.
What side effects may occur after thread lifting?
Temporary pain, swelling, bruising, tightness, and foreign body sensation may appear after the procedure, and most improve over time. Rarely, dimpling, temporary asymmetry, thread exposure, pigmentation, and infection may occur. If abnormal reactions persist or pain is severe, please visit the medical institution where you received the procedure as soon as possible for examination.
Why does dimpling occur?
Dimpling is a phenomenon where the procedure area appears temporarily depressed when the thread's cogs excessively pull on skin tissue or when the insertion depth is inconsistent. It usually resolves naturally within 1–2 weeks, but if it does not recover or becomes prominent after a certain period, please visit and consult with the medical staff. Beauty Blossom minimizes the possibility of dimpling by designing the depth, angle, and thread type considering the skin condition and thickness.
When can I return to daily life and how long is the recovery period?
Return to daily life is possible on the day of the procedure, and facial washing is recommended from approximately 24 hours later. Swelling and bruising generally improve within about 1–2 weeks, but individual differences may apply. For about 1–2 weeks after the procedure, please refrain from facial massage, sauna, jjimjilbang, excessive drinking, vigorous exercise, and excessive facial expressions. Please take antibiotics according to the prescribed schedule.
Absorbable thread vs non-absorbable thread, which is better?
Beauty Blossom uses MINT Lift and epiticon — absorbable threads made of PDO (polydioxanone). Absorbable PDO threads are safely absorbed into the body over a certain period, with the advantage of flexible response to future line-up changes or redesign. Non-absorbable threads have separate considerations such as foreign body sensation, so it is recommended to decide the thread selection that fits your purpose through medical staff consultation.
How is the procedure cost determined?
The cost varies depending on the thread line-up used, application area scope, and number of threads. Since the design varies by area, the exact cost will be guided through 1:1 in-person consultation. For details, please inquire at Beauty Blossom Clinic.
